SUMMARY

Janus particles are composed of one or more properties and therefore they show multidisciplinary behavior. Because of having many application areas, they have been very popular in the recent literatüre. Even though there are many synthesis methods for these particles, there aren’t many recent work on the production of magnetic Janus particles that have also another inorganic material inside. The goal of this project is to synthesize two types of magnetic Janus particles. The first type is Fe3O4-SiO2 and the second type is Fe3O4-TiO2 Janus particle. These particles will be very useful in biological applications. For instance the Fe3O4 part will provide the magnetic property therefore tehy can be used in MRI or targeted drug delivery whereas SiO2 has fluorescent property and TiO2 can be used in photodynamic or sonodynamic therapy.
